Meet Patrick Council, the visionary founder of Elevation Power Engineering. As a licensed Professional Engineer specializing in electrical power systems, Patrick’s journey began with a natural curiosity for understanding how things work. At just sixteen, he identified a critical fault in his home’s electrical system, setting the stage for his future in engineering. After serving in the U.S. Army and earning his GED, Patrick pursued a degree in electrical engineering, eventually applying his expertise to federal hydroelectric facilities. His innovative solutions during the COVID-19 crisis unlocked significant revenue streams by preventing potential grid failures. Today, Patrick leverages his extensive experience to help clients navigate the complexities of electrical compliance, ensuring safety and reliability in every project.

2005
Early Discovery
At just 16, Patrick diagnosed a dangerous electrical fault in his home—long before he had any formal training. Driven by curiosity and instinct, he reverse-engineered the system to understand the failure, sparking a lifelong obsession with how things work, why they break, and how to make them better.
2008-2011
Military Service
Enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he operated heavy equipment as an Abrams Tank Crewmember and was certified to deploy and maintain portable generators. During a one-year deployment to Iraq, he served as a Command Center Operator—managing real-time communications, data flow, and tactical coordination in a high-stakes combat environment.
2012-2017
Academic Pursuit
After returning from military service, Patrick earned his degree in electrical engineering—transforming raw hands-on experience into structured technical mastery. His journey from GED to engineering graduate wasn’t linear, but it was relentless. Along the way, he honed a rare blend of analytical rigor, real-world intuition, and systems-level thinking.
2017-2025
Federal Engineer
Joined a federal agency where he designed, tested, and deployed diagnostic systems for hydroelectric facilities—ensuring the reliability of complex power systems serving millions. His work combined deep technical precision with the challenges of legacy infrastructure, regulatory oversight, and high-consequence environments. During the COVID-19 crisis, one of his innovations helped prevent a major system failure and safeguarded a significant source of agency revenue.

Private Engineer
